As a benefit of ADA student membership, you receive disability insurance coverage paid for by ADA® Members Insurance Plans, underwritten by Protective during dental school. Activate and create account
A disability from a sports injury or some other type of accident could prevent you from completing dental school. As a result, you could have the burden of simultaneously repaying student loans and covering medical expenses.
Your most valuable asset isn't your bank account or investments — it's you. Protecting your finances with the ADA Student Disability Insurance Plan could safeguard your lifestyle and financial future. ADA student members receive this important coverage paid for by ADA Members Insurance Plans during dental school, after requesting activation. As long as you share your postgraduate plans with us and maintain your ADA membership, your coverage can continue throughout your residency.
If you suffer a disabling illness or injury, your future and potential in dentistry could be delayed or severely diminished. If your education or career path is interrupted (or halted altogether) by a disabling illness or injury, you can rely on the ADA Student Disability Insurance Plan to provide cash every month, for up to 7 years, to help cover student loans and living expenses.
Up to $2,000 per month in disability coverage and up to $2,000 per month for student loan replacement up to 7 years.
If a total disability prevents you from performing the normal duties of a full-time dental student, you can receive monthly benefits for up to two years. This is followed by an "any occupation" period for up to five additional years.
Once enrolled, your coverage automatically renews each year throughout dental school and residency, as long as you share your postgraduate insurance plans with us and maintain your ADA membership.
You're eligible for benefits after 90 days of disability. Use the monthly benefits to help cover your living expenses, pay down your debts or train for another career.
After meeting your 90-day waiting period and receiving 9 consecutive months of disability income benefits for a total disability, you may be eligible for monthly student loan repayment benefits. This student loan repayment is in addition to your disability income benefit based on the terms of the policy.
Your focus should be on your career, not insurance paperwork. With our Graduate Offer, you can convert your ADA Student Members Disability Insurance to ADA Members Insurance Plans for practicing dentists. ADA Disability Income Protection Insurance is available at competitive rates with "own occupation" coverage to help protect you in case the unexpected happens.
